Merry Christmas Loot

Sometimes I am a little worried about the gifts I receive and Christmas is always an adventure.

This year, by far, we would call a roaring success. Almost everything is stuff that I actually want.

In the Schnabel household we get up and open our own stockings first thing in the morning. Ordinarily I get up ridiculously early and open mine first, but the older I get the later I get up. For instance–three years ago I got up at 7:30 and ran down the stairs. This year mom forced me out of bed at 8:45am, waking me up by singing an annoying Christian Christmas song. Don’t even get me started…

So stockings: not a bad haul. The only “Christian” present was in the stockings, an Operation Christmas Child Bible memory verse kit.

If you aren’t familiar with OCC, well, I’ll just have to devote a separate post to it.

So in the stocking:

Bracelet charm, candy, chapstick, aforementioned memory verses, size 10 knitting needles, a pretty Christmas ornament in the shape of a flute, and other assorted odds and ends.

Under the tree? Even better:

and more slipperswhich also came with pajamas.

From the ‘rents: a sweet digital camera (hence the cruddy pics) I am so happy that I will be able to have pictures now. Not having a camera from June til now has been hell. Also a pot and pan set!!

I got many seam rippers of varying sizes, bath stuff, a scarf, some fuzzy socks that I will wear around the house.

I was given some winter boots–not exactly what I wanted but still cute I think. They are very soft on the inside.

My grandparents got me many wonderful gifts, the most astounding being a folding cutting table with multiple supports a teapot/2 cup set (enough for a tea date with a friend 🙂 ) Some white chocolate hot cocoa, some soap, and a very ingenious bobbin holder. In the top color I can put cotton bobbins in the top color, in the bottom color embroidery bobbins.

From my brother and sister-in-law I got the new Alice in Chains cd (Black Gives Way to Blue) which I have been wanting, and a three book set of The Dresden Files.

My mother saw the cd and thought that it was an Alice Cooper cd and was really angry at first, and then she didn’t know who Alice in Chains were so that was alright. I think either one would have been fun 😉

Jealous much? I would be.

All in all a fabulous Christmas day, and I am very thankful for everything I have received. (Don’t worry, I gave gifts too.)

I am still brainstorming what I want this blog to be, but posts will be forthcoming. I swear.

For now, have a very Happy Christmas,

  1. I can’t believe how much loot you got in your stocking alone! What a haul! I didn’t know that grown ups still did memory verses, but whatever! You can always re-gift it at a church function!

Something to say?
