Whew!

Well January is almost over, and you’ve barely heard from me.

Warning you all now, you probably won’t hear from me any more in February. Because:

My show–Duet For One, opens in a couple of weeks.

At the same time rehearsals for Once Upon a Mattress, in which I will be playing the Queen, have begun.

Then as soon as my show closes,

NATS (National Association of Teachers of Singing) competition will be taking place, for which I need to memorize three songs.

And that evening is the St. Martin’s Chorale’s performance of the Cherubini Mass.

The next day I have a performance at a flute recital at my teacher’s house.

So, in order to keep myself sane during the month, I have decided to schedule in workout time and productive crafting time.

So today, on ebay (you can buy brand new patterns much cheaper on ebay) I purchased three patterns. My original thought is that I would sew three things a month. Looking at how crazy February is going to be I think my goal for February is just to make one of them, and then the other two in March.

Here are the patterns I bought:

and I also REALLY REALLY want this one but I think I will buy the pattern next month.

Edit: never mind, I couldn’t resist. I had to have this one so I bought it.

Now I will be set for the next four months, because I hope to make variations of these dresses, make all the tops, make the jackets.

So I am no longer allowed to buy patterns until I have made all of these.

HOWEVER: If any of you have patterns you’re done with and would love to send my way I will gladly take any!

So that should allow me to relieve some stress, but without wasting time (ie the time I spend will get me more clothing.)

I am about to head off to rehearsal, but I wanted to share these purchases with you since I am so excited!

And I spent very little money as well. I have some fabric I think will work for some of these but if you have any extra fabric, zippers, buttons, or notions of any kind laying around be sure to send some my way! ;D

I’ll be sure to post pics when I actually make these!

Sincerely,

Emilie

  1. I love these! I should have had you make the bridesmaid dresses from my wedding, I bet they would have been super cute, and you probably wouldn’t have even tried to rip me off! 🙂

I can’t wait to see how these turn out!

Something to say?
