Troglodyte

So I have spent the last 2 1/2 days in my basement (aka my shop of wonders) and the space heater I burgled from the pump house has finally raised the temperature down here from glacial to a cool winter’s evening.

I (mostly) abandoned the internet, left my phone on silent, and spent time doing what I love most–creating.

This time it was through sewing.

I plugged in the 1st Harry Potter movie and subsequently went through all of them.

Here is what I have to show for my time:

(In case you cannot tell, yes those are my initials on the back of the jacket.)

I have received multiple twitter comments comparing me to Sue Sylvester for this…and I amΒ  completely ok with that.

Next:

I had a couple of issues with pleats, but in the end I think it turned out alright.

Over the last few days I’ve rediscovered something that I forgot about–I like having me time. I need me time.

For the past three years I have grown a lot as a person, and I have worked really hard at being social.

But I have also been constantly inundated with people minute after minute, hour after hour. Most of this time I really enjoy, but I had forgotten that when I do not get solitary time eventually I over-stress and break down.

These past couple of days, while frustrating for people who may have wanted to contact me, have been extremely centering.

It also feels wonderful to have time to make things.

Wishing that your summer has started out well,

Sincerely,

Emilie
